How good are fast and frugal heuristics? (1999)
Authors
Abstract
(from the chapter) This reprinted chapter originally appeared in Decision Science and Technology, 1999. Notes that 2 concepts, simplicity and frugality, have inspired models of cognition. These fast and frugal models are justified by their psychological plausibility and adaptedness to natural environments. Topics discussed in this chapter include the following: satisfying by fast and frugal heuristics, the price of fast and frugal, ecological rationality, and how the best compares with good Bayesian models.
